How it works

Front the Post: 5-on-5 with the ball on the right wing and their big on the right block. The post defender steps around and plays in front: no entry pass.

  1. 5-on-5 with the ball on the right wing and their big on the right block.
  2. The post defender steps around and plays in front: no entry pass.
  3. The weak side sags into the paint to take away the lob.
  4. On the lob, the weak-side help takes it away. Fronting only works with help behind it.

Coaching tips

Get around early, before the ball arrives on the wing. The help side must be in the paint, or the lob is a layup.
