How it works
2-on-1 Fast Break: Two offensive players start at half court on opposite sides. Defender starts under the basket. Coach passes the ball to one of the offensive players — the 2-on-1 begins.
- Two offensive players start at half court on opposite sides. Defender starts under the basket.
- Coach passes the ball to one of the offensive players — the 2-on-1 begins.
- Offensive players attack at full speed. Ball handler pushes toward the middle.
- If the defender drops to protect the rim: pull-up jumper or pass across for the layup.
- If the defender steps up: pass to the cutter for the easy layup.
- Rotate: passer stays, scorer goes to defense, defender goes to the line.
Coaching tips
Ball handler must attack the nail — force the defender to commit one way. Never stop your dribble in a 2-on-1 until the decision is made.
